ESD generator for spacecraft equipment testing

In January 2022, the European Space Agency released a new ESD test method in the standard ECSS-E-ST-20-07C Rev.2 section 5.4.13, to verify the immunity of spacecraft equipment to the electromagnetic effects of wire-coupled electrostatic discharges.

To help implement this new test method montena has developed, in cooperation with ESA, a pulse generator that brings the following advantages:

• Better test reproducibility (fewer factors influencing the test waveform and the coupling to the bundle under test)
• Reduced set up time, thanks to the use of commercial Off-The-Shelf equipment.
