Impulse Radiating Antennas

The HIRA180S is an ultra-wideband radiating antenna for high intensity pulses, similar to the IRA antenna but using a ground plane as an electromagnetic mirror. This antenna is particularly suited for hyperband tests according to IEC 61000-4-36.

The antenna produces a very narrow beam in the bore sight direction. The antenna can be oriented in every direction. The advantage of this construction compared to a full paraboloidal reflector antenna (IRA) is a better ruggedness, a broader frequency range and an improved return loss. Connected to a 30 kV / 115 ps pulse generator, the antenna can theoretically produce more than 8.3 kV/m at a distance of 20 m.
