1.2 MV NEMP generator in Germany

Montena successfully commissioned a modern 1.2 megavolts Marx generator at the Defence Science Institute for Protection Technologies (WIS) in Munster, Germany.

The aim was the replacement of the 40-year old generator of their Nuclear Electromagnetic Pulse (NEMP) simulator by a device of the latest technology made by montena, and to interface it with the existing 24m high bounded-wave radiating antenna. The new duo is capable to uniformly expose large test objects to field strengths of up to 60'000 V/m.
